„On December 7th 1970, when the then Chancellor of
the
Federal Republic of Germany, Willy Brandt, kneeled down at the tumb of
the
unnamed soldier during the laying of wreath in the Warshaw
Ghetto,
after the ratification of the Warshaw Treaty with Poland, under the
leadership
of the then acting foreign minister Wladislaw Gomolka, I was - and with
me
people in the whole world - deeply moved by this simple gesture from
this
charismatic man.
On the brink of German history, and under the burden of the million
murdered he did what humans shall do when the loose their words.
Even after decades I don´t know it better than this
correspondent,
who concluded: `Then he kneeled, who had no need to do so, instead of
all
those who needed it but don´t kneel because they don´t dare
or
can´t dare or are are not allowed to dare.´ “
